Rua Sargent, Q Squared Director

Wedged under a house digging pile holes was how Q Squared director Rua Sargent’s career in the building industry began. Over the following years, Rua worked in architectural residential construction, passed his trade cert exam and then went to Ireland to construct major feature works using architectural antiques from Europe’s state houses and churches.

Returning to New Zealand, Rua relocated houses, owned a small construction company and worked as a quantity surveyor in the tough commercial sector before spending some years in a professional office specialising in construction defects and disputes. He has been around long enough to see some of the major successes and pitfalls in the construction industry and knows how to make sure you are on the right track.
